First: why are we gathering? A circle without a clear intention becomes a café. A shared intention, even a simple one, changes the quality of presence.

A gesture, a smoke cleansing, a short reading. The threshold has to be marked. Before the circle / during the circle — it's a clean cut. Imphepho, copal or agua de florida depending on your lineage.

Ceremonial cacao most often, but also rose or tulsi depending on the tone of the circle. Prepared with attention, shared in silence. Each person receives their cup as a gift.
