We answer.
What is the difference between Rosa damascena and Rosa indica?
Two cousin lineages. Rosa damascena is the rose of the Sufis and the Levant, organically grown in Morocco for its buds — a crystalline floral aroma, more focused, the rose distilled by attar civilisations. Rosa indica is the wild rose of the Indian Himalayan foothills, wildcrafted for its petals and powder — a dense, deep, earthy aroma, more raw.
How do you prepare a rose petal infusion?
A good pinch of petals (or one teaspoon of powder) in water around 85 °C, steep 5 to 7 minutes. For buds: 3 to 5 buds per cup, 85 °C, 5 minutes. Water not too hot to preserve the subtle floral aroma.
What is the Cacao-Rose table?
A custom inherited from Levantine and Mesoamerican traditions: prepare a ceremonial cacao paste as usual, but the water poured into it has first infused a good pinch of rose petals for 7 minutes at 85 °C. Filter, reunite cacao and infusion. Serve in a circle, in silence first. The rose widens and softens the cacao's heat.
Can rose petals be smoked?
Yes, in ritual smoking blends. Crush the dry petals between the fingers and sprinkle over a soft base (mullein, raspberry leaf, mugwort). Rose brings a fine floral note and softens more aromatic blends.
Is rose good for the heart?
Rose is traditionally named the plant of the heart in nearly all the world's pharmacopoeias — Rumi makes her the emblem of mystical love, Ayurveda reads her in the register of Sadhaka Pitta (the fire of the heart). She is a symbolic plant of the great soft passages: birth, marriage, grief, prayer. Cultural and energetic uses, not a cardiological treatment.
Where does INFUSE's rose come from?
Two transparent origins. Buds are organically grown in Morocco, EU-certified. Petals and powder are hand-harvested in the Indian Himalayas, wildcrafted, in collaboration with a small family business.
What precautions with rose?
Rose remains one of the safest plants in the world's pharmacopoeias. Avoid in case of allergy to Rosaceae. During pregnancy, generally well tolerated as a light infusion but consult for sustained use. Breastfeeding: moderate use recommended.
Is rose legal in the UK / EU?
Yes, Rosa damascena and Rosa indica are freely available across the UK and the European Union as aromatic and food plants.
